About The Film

Chloe has been surrounded by drugs and violence for so long she doesn’t even know life without them. Her life is always on the run helping her mother, Lexie, and her mother’s degenerate boyfriend, Tiny, score more drugs to feed their cravings. At a time when she should be playing dress-up and dolls, she’s used as a prop for her mother’s appetite.

To cope, she has created a fantasy world where she is a princess and her mother is a queen. This version of the story is colorful and sweet, a stark difference to the real world.

Chloe is every little girl in the world…fiercely loyal to an imperfect mother and striving for her approval.

Rick

Brian McDaniel is an established comedian and actor, having appeared on “The Young & The Restless”, “Entourage” (feature film), “The Bold & The Beautiful”, “The Inspectors”, and as a regular contributor on CBS’ “The Talk.” He performs stand-up comedy around the country and his picture was enshrined on the wall of the DC Improv last year.

He is best known for appearing as a panelist on TMZ, where through his banter with Lisa Lampanelli he launched his comedy career. You can catch him at his home club The Ice House in Pasadena, or on screen in the next season of “The Inspectors” reprising his role as the unrepentant Ronnie Lawson.

Chloe

Hannah Goergen is a 7 year-old Atlanta based actress. She entered the TV/film industry, as a movie extra, at the young age of 3. In 2015, she received a wonderful opportunity to portray Cassie Parton, as a featured extra, in the TV movie Dolly Parton’s The Coat of Many Colors. The following year, a sequel was made, Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love and Hannah was invited back to portray Cassie Parton again. Shortly into the filming process, she was upgraded to a cast member. She has been busy acting ever since, with a co-star role on the much anticipated TV series Mr. Mercedes, based on the Stephen King novel, and most recently wrapped filming on The Pact, starring Leslie Mann.

When away from filming, Hannah loves all things sports and animals, playing with family and friends and her absolute favorite thing is to make people laugh.

Lexie

Valeria Maldonado portrayed Lenore on Jason Reitman’s Golden Globe nominated TV comedy series, CASUAL on HULU and voiced several characters on DISNEY/PIXAR’s upcoming feature film COCO. She was also on ABC’s drama CASTLE playing Agnes Molina, on Nickelodeon’s multicam comedy NICKY, RICKY, DICKY AND DAWN as Sharon Dee, and on YouTubeRed’s SINGLE BY 30 as Caitlin. Valeria performs sketch comedy for JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE on a recurring basis. She acts in musical theatre productions throughout Los Angeles, as Jasmine in ALADDIN, Mimi in RENT and Vanessa in IN THE HEIGHTS. Valeria is perpetually working in national commercials, working bilingually both in General and Spanish markets. Her feature films include NO SOMOS HERMANOS by Juan Carlos de Llaca and AQUELLOS OJOS VERDES which competed at the acclaimed CANNES FILM FESTIVAL.

Valeria is producing her own film alongside Virginia Novello and Marta Cross, that is being developed by LOTUS Entertainment, SISTERS, a cross-over family dramedy about forgiveness, and is also producing the documentary MENDOTA with esteemed director and producer, Gary Ross (Big, The Hunger Games, Sea Biscuit) and his son Jack Ross about migrant farmworkers in California’s Central Valley. She is happy to be of service whether on screen or off bringing heart and soul to stories of every kind that are in time to be in the light.

Tiny

A former programmer and entrepreneur from Dallas, it only took 8 post-college years for Trey Tucker to rediscover his love for performing. The son of a pastor, he was always on stage either preaching or performing in the church productions. Add to that the junior high and high school plays and the small theatre troupe he played in through high school, he admits it shouldn’t have taken him 8 years to get a clue.

A newbie to the business, this is the first place you’ll see him, other than a minor part in The Space Between Us and several local productions with his schools. But keep an eye out. He’s said he isn’t returning to the programming seat anytime soon.

Jasmine

Mallory Shelton is 22 years old and grew up in Chesterfield, Virginia. When she graduated high school, she had the opportunity to work as a greensman in the film industry located in Atlanta. After 4 years of working behind the camera, she had the pleasure of making her film acting debut as Jasmine.

Earl

Known for being behind the camera as a Production Assistant, 1st AD or Director, Atlanta native Keith Williams is making his film acting debut as Earl. He has acted on Television shows MTV’s Yo’ Mama and Metro Café. A graduate of Georgia State University, he has spent the past seven years assisting production for shows Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court, Georgia Public Broadcast documentaries, and Video Coordinator for Horizon Theatre’s Every Tongue Confess. He is also CEO and Co-Founder of ECK Productions, a production company that will debut later in the year the thriller, Try to Remember.

Director & Producer

Director and Producer Sean Martinez is a first-time filmmaker. With a unique ability to visualize and execute any project, his visions vividly come to life. His warm, charismatic and inviting personality allows him to draw the room in and earn each one of his crewmembers respect. The respect and effective communication he provides allows all his ideas to run smoothly so that the actors and crew can easily picture his unique views and instantly feel inspired while making all aspects of the project run effectively.

On AMMF, Sean was able to transform the world of fairytales forever. Through the eyes of a little girl, we see the world of drug addiction and it’s impact on everyone involved in that lifestyle. With his attention to detail such as the passion to get emotions moving, the colors, music, mood and production design, the audience everywhere is transported to a world they never thought they would be involved. The audience is lost in this “fairytale” trying to find the happy ending, the happily ever after, and they are left wanting more.

Executive Producer

Victoria Mitchell is the Executive Producer of AMMF who graduated from USC and California Western Law School, but her joy is being a stay at home mom in San Diego, CA. She is also very passionate about film, and decided to go outside her comfort zone to produce a movie showing the ugly side of drugs. As a mother, she feels it is important to show this side of drugs and start the conversation of drug addiction and how it can hurt those around you. Fairytale provides the story needed to start such conversations and tells a story that needs to be told. She truly believes in the whole film process from start to finish, with a desire to see the vision through it’s full potential. She is truly a visionary of the new age producer. Director of Photography

German Valle is a cinematographer and lighting technician. His experience spans from features, episodics, and commercials to music videos and documentaries. He has worked on numerous multi-million dollar feature films including Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 1&2 (VFX unit), Taken 3, Footloose, The Change Up, Internship, Identity Thief, Talladega Nights, The Strangers, and Leatherheads and was the 2nd Unit Gaffer on Alvin and the Chipmunks 4: Road Chip. He has been the DP for several independent films including Curveball, A Beary Scary Movie, Probable Cause and Half Empty. He has shot many music videos, which have day viewed on BET, MTV and MUSE. He is the owner of Bam Bam Lights. His company has helped produce projects with lighting and camera equipment.

German’s attention to detail can be seen in every shot he takes. He allows the mood and emotion of the scene to influence his color palette, depth of feel and composition. His lighting and artistry behind the camera visually connects audiences to his work. He seeks inspiration from the work of great cinematographers including, Rodrigo Prieto, Eduardo Sierra, Dion Beebe, and Conrad Hall. German received his Education from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking, where he studied closely under his mentor, Robert Collins, the three-time Emmy winning Director of Photography.

Writers

Matt Storm and Roger Scheck met while classmates at film school at the North Carolina School of the Arts in 2002. They made a fast friendship while working on each other’s daily projects. Roger graduated with a degree in Cinematography, while Matt opted for a concentration in Writing. Both moved to Los Angeles and began co-writing projects together.

Roger Scheck came to NCSA from the small town of McAlister, Oklahoma, where he fell in love with the cinema through films by Tarantino, Hitchcock and Scorcese. His love for darker topics and loud music led him to do the initial draft of what would become “A Midwestern Methamphetamine Fairytale”. He also wrote and directed “Nobody Loves Alice”, a low-budget feature about a disturbed woman that becomes obsessed with a life she can never have.

Matt Storm brings a bent sense of innocent humor to things he writes. He grew up in the American South, a product of Stephen King and Weird Al Yankovic. When Roger asked for help expanding the story that would become “Fairytale”, Matt tried to paint the story with his own unique brush. He shoots for colorful characters with unique voices in his scripts, making for original storytelling experiences.

UPM/Producer

Jay Ward is a Screenwriter and Director based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Jay grew up in Rome, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. The son of a storyteller, he grew up with a fascination for making. This followed him from his early attempts at comic books, short stories, and radio plays. The urge to create turned a short term serving job into a long term chef position. As gratifying as creating original, scratch dishes was, the urge to create worlds, to make a living making overcame him.

In July of 2013, Jay decided to commit to film full time. He quit his job and started working as an extra in film and television, then started writing and directing his own short films, such as The Patient (2014), Blind (2014), Recall (2015), and The Talk (2016). After writing, producing and directing those films, and working in the locations department on several film and television productions, Jay was brought on to A Midwestern Methamphetamine Fairly Tale to Produce and UPM by the Director, Sean Martinez. Jay is currently in Pre-Production on his first feature film, Lonely/Desperate, scheduled to begin shooting in late January 2017.

Producer

James Vasquez was born in sunny Southern California and is also a twin. The love of film-making began because of a wrestling injury in high school. He studied film in college and earned a BA degree. After over 200 camera department credits, he decided to take his creativeness behind the lens into the producing world after teaming up with his producing partner Sean Martinez.

Production Design

If there is one word to describe Zoey Wang, it will have to be “Kaizen” which means constant improvement and growth. This simple term comprises the breadth of her philosophy. This method also applies to her work ethic as she tries to explore new techniques and knowledge to rise out of traditional concepts and make breakthroughs. Born and raised in Los Angeles, a multi-cultural environment, she was fortunate enough to be exposed to a wide range of cultures, art, people, and most importantly perspectives. This greatly impacts what she hopes to bring into any project she is working on – duality in design to convey meanings. If the viewers can relate and be captivated in it, then she’s done her job.

While being a business major and minor in psychology at Cal State University of Northridge, she got her first project in 2010 and was hired on as an Art Department Assistant in Los Angeles. In September 2012, she moved to Atlanta to further her work in Art Department and learned creative storytelling through design and the flow of how creatives work together to generate results. She is now working as an Art Coordinator in the film industry. To be a part of something bigger than herself feeds her soul and contributing to a greater whole and giving back to an industry that brought her so many great joys growing up – Film.

Editor

Kristina Kromer is an editor at Moonshine Post Production in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from the University of North Georgia with a degree in Film & Digital Media, she dove into the world of filmmaking, cutting everything from shortform to documentary style to episodic shows. Her entire life, she has always loved to tell stories. At the age of 14, she found her storytelling platform in a high school video broadcast class and 10 years later, she turned it into a career. At the age of 24, she found herself exactly where she wanted to be doing exactly what she wanted to do; telling amazing stories with amazing people.

When the creators of AMMF came to Moonshine Post with their film, Kristina immediately took interest. It can be difficult to come by a story that is so compelling, so engaging and also completely original. As a editor, you can’t ask for more. From the start, she knew that this was a story that she wanted to take a part in telling and the opportunity to embark on a transformational journey.

Composer

Robert Mai’s talents span a wide range of different fields. He initially studied directing and writing at Chapman University (earning a B.A. in Screenwriting), made the leap to editing, and finally settled on his life-long love for music composition. His 15 years of playing violin and 8 years of performing in orchestra groups form a strong base for his classical composition skills, which he combines with his sense of dark whimsy and love for unusual instrumentation to craft scores that happily serve their projects.

Robert won a variety of awards for his music, including a nomination from the College Television Emmy Awards. He is currently finishing up the music for two different independent video games, both set to be released in 2018. Whenever Robert is not in the studio, he also works as a professional script supervisor and has done projects for Buzzfeed, Spike TV, and Warner Brothers in the past, amongst countless other production companies.

Robert was drawn to AMMF because of the unique musical challenges the project presented through the juxtaposition of whimsical fantasy and stark reality. He looks forward to watching AMMF flourish on the festival circuit!
